DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (May 8, 2022) – The Mercy College men's lacrosse team has received the program's third-ever bid into the 2022 NCAA Division II Men's Lacrosse Championship. The Mavericks earned the No. 1 seed in the North Region for the first time by virtue of going 14-1 and earning the program's third straight ECC Regular Season and Tournament Championships.
Mercy will now host a National Quarterfinal matchup on Sunday, May 15th at SUNY Purchase at 1 p.m. The Mavericks will host the winner of No. 4 seed Mercyhurst and No. 5 seed Seton Hill who will play on Wednesday, May 11th. On the other side of the North Region bracket, No. 3 seed Le Moyne will face No. 6 seed Saint Anselm on May 11th with the winner taking on No. 2 seed Adelphi on May 15th.
The Mavericks are making their third straight NCAA Tournament appearance after winning the ECC Regular Season and Tournament Championships. Mercy is currently ranked a program-best No. 2 nationally in the USILA Coaches Poll and will be making their third appearance in the National Quarterfinals.
