BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Sept. 19, 2009) - The 2009 C.W. Post men's lacrosse team received its championship rings and was honored by the C.W. Post administration for its NCAA national title Saturday morning in the Pratt Recreation Center gymnasium.
C.W. Post Provost Paul Forestell and Director of Athletics Bryan Collins along with Associate Athletic Director Shantey Hill were on hand to honor head coach John Jez and his team and its memorable season before handing the rings out.
Head coach John Jez and the Pioneers defeated LeMoyne College, 8-7, on May 24 to capture their second title in program history. In addition its outstanding team achievement, C.W. Post received many individual accolades, including nine USILA All-Americans, three USILA Academic All-Americans, and nine East Coast Conference selections. Greg Cerar earned the USILA Outstanding Player of the Year and Outstanding Attackman honors, and Mike Cama earned the Specialty Player of the Year Award.
