For the fourth straight week the East Coast Conference has
dominated the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse
Association’s NCAA Division II national rankings with five
teams in the rankings.
With the exception of Dowling, all five schools remained in the
same spot on the poll as they were a week ago.
C.W. Post took home a pivotal ECC contest against Mercyhurst by
a score of 4-3 to move to 11-1 on the season and remain in the No.
3 spot in the poll. The Pioneers, the highest ranked ECC team, come
in behind Limestone and Le Moyne respectively.
Following up the Pioneers is Mercyhurst at No.4. The loss to C.W.
Post didn’t hurt the Lakers’ standing in the poll, as
they were ranked fourth in last week’s poll as well.
Next up in the rankings is Dowling who move into a fourth place tie
with Mercyhurst. Dowling went 2-0 last week with wins over Lake
Erie and Bentley to move to 8-2 on the season.
Mercy continues the run off ECC members in the poll, coming in at
No. 6. The Mavericks are now 9-1 on the year.
Rounding out the ECC members on the poll is NYIT, who also remains
in eighth place after victories over Dominican and Wheeling Jesuit
a week ago.
For the second time in three weeks, Limestone was a unanimous
choice in the No. 1 spot in the poll. Limestone is the only
undefeated team left in Division II with a 12-0 record.
