Selden, N.Y. - The softball team acted like
"buddies" at the The Miracle League of Long Island at Saturday the
15th of September. The Miracle League is an organization for
children with disbilities and connecting them with the game of
baseball. Their main vision is that every child deserves a chance
to play baseball. Head coach Debbie DeJong stated, "It was a
privilige and an honor to have been a part of this organization. It
was one of the best Saturdays that our team has spent together and
it was an experience that I'm sure that no one will forget."
At Brookhaven Amphiteater, Selden, NY, members of the softball team
assisted kids on the Blue Jays, Ravens, Thunderbirds and Cardinals
in an afternoon at the field enjoying the game of baseball. Every
kid has thier own "buddy" who is supporting and helping during the
game. Junior Erica Fischetti said, "Working with The
Miracle League was an amazing experience. It was great getting
involved with the community and having an opportunity to interact
with such special children."
