Player of the Week

Katie Hogan, C.W. Post (Jr., A, Farmingdale, N.Y. / Farmingdale) - Accrued 12 points (8g, 4a) in a 2-0 ECC week, going a perfect 8 for 8 in shots on goal attempts. Defensively, Hogan picked up three ground balls and caused two turnovers while recording five draw controls.

Goalkeeper of the Week

Caitlin Fitzpatrick, Adelphi (So., GK, Port Washington, N.Y. / Paul D. Schrieber) - Posted a .581 save percentage and a 9.00 GAA in a 2-0 week, with wins over #9 New Haven and Bentley.  She allowed just five goals in an 18-5 win over New Haven.

Rookie of the Week

Kaitlyn Carter, Adelphi (Fr., M, Mineola, N.Y. / Mineola) -
Notched eight goals and three assists in a 2-0 week. Started with three goals and one assist in an 18-5 ECC win over New Haven. Added a game high five goals with two assists, with four scores in the second half including the eventual game winner against Bentley.

ECC Notebook

ECC: In the most recent IWLCA Division II national poll (3/25), C.W. Post remained the nation's top ranked team, while Adelphi was No. 5 and New Haven was receiving votes.

CW Post: Top-ranked C.W. Post continued its dominance last week, claiming two conference wins over Molloy and St. Thomas Aquinas.  Junior attacker Katie Hogan tallied eight goals on eight shots and added four assists while junior attacker Jaclyn Napoli tallied seven goals with five assists for the Pioneers.  C.W. Post faces stiff competition this week when it travels north to face Bentley College on Apr. 11 before closing out the week at home against Saint Anselm on Apr. 13. 

Adelphi: The Adelphi Panthers moved up from #5 to #4 in the latest IWLCA/Under Armour National Poll. They posted a convincing 2-0 week, including an 18-5 conference victory over #9 New Haven. Freshman Michelle Ceraso led the Panthers against the Chargers with four goals and one assist. Junior Rachel Ray had two goasl and five assists as Adelphi outscored UNH, 9-1 in the second half. The next day, the Panthers took on the Falcons of Bentley College and for the first time this season, found themselves trailing at the half, 9-8.   Freshman Kaitlyn Carter scored four straight goals in the second half, including the game-winner with 19:45 remaining lift the Panthers to a 17-13 win.  She had a total of five goals in the game, along with two assists. Adelphi returns to action this Wednesday at Southern Connecticut State.

New Haven: After finding out that they were ranked for the first time in school history, jumping up to No. 9 in the IWLCA/Under Armour coaches' poll, UNH posted a 2-1 record last week.  The Chargers won a program-record eighth victory of the season before falling to No. 4 Adelphi on Saturday.  Rookie Ashley Ferrandiz led the club last week with 10 points, scoring nine times and picking up a team-best eight ground balls.  Brigid Brady and Mallory Ferrandiz (both 7g, 2a) were next with nine points each, while three other players scored three times apiece.  The Ferrandiz sisters led the club in scoring, with Mallory tops at 36 points and Ashley next with 33, including a team-high 27 goals.  Brady has 26 points, while Sarah LeGoff and Brianna Kenworthy have 16 points each.  UNH travels to Massachusetts for a date with American International College on Wednesday, and then hosts Franklin Pierce on Saturday.

Dowling: The Golden Lions had a 1-1 week losing to #9 New Haven 9-13 and defeating Dominican 20-3.  Dowling was led by Sophomore Vanessa Moreira who dominated possession statistics.  For the week, Moreira finished with 14 ground balls, 13 caused turnovers and 6 draw controls.  Melanie Burgos was the week high scorer tallying 4 goals and 4 assists.  Dowling hosts STAC Wednesday at 4:00 in ECC competition and Rollins Sunday at 1:00.

Molloy: The Lady Lions went 1-1 on the week with an 18-4 loss to C.W. Post on April 1 and a 12-11 victory over Philadelphia on April 6.  Kristie Sosnowski recorded five goals, while Kristina Wargo had four goals and an assist.  Rebecca LaFlare notched four goals and Alicia Frisch made 12 saves in net.
